Analysis of To be Loved

To Be Loved
I believe love to be a beautiful butterfly,
That flies away after far too little time.
Love is like butter, smooth and delicious but bad,
Bad for your health.

To be Loved is to be whisked away on a train of joy.
To be Loved is to be out in summer rain dancing among the droplets.
To be Loved is to be held deeply in one’s heart,
To revel in the sadness and happiness that accompanies love.

To be Loved is also to have lost,
To be Loved is also to have grieved,
To be Loved is the single most painful and greatest to happen to you.

Love is tricky, it tells you that you are beautiful,
Only to slap you moments later.
Love tells you that you matter,
Only to be degraded moments later.
Love can only hurt just as love can only heal.

To be Loved is a dangerous thing.
To be Loved can break you and fix you.
To be Loved is not for the faint of heart.

I believe Love to be a little caterpillar,
That poisons you if you touch it.
