Analysis of Too much to forget
Too much to forget
And a lifetime too short
There was a day
When I was young
And there was a spring
When songs were sung
When we lay upon the grass
And lived in each others eyes
And knew no sorrow
But lovers foolish sighs
Beside the sea
When we idled hand in hand
Paddled in the waves
And wrote names upon the sand
But now the tide is in
The names are washed away
Our lives are gone
And yet the fishes play
Beyond that sea
Beside that shore
Where once we loved
And never to visit more
Too much to forget
And a lifetime too short
