Analysis of Better Than You Have It

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

You are no different than the others.
Others wanting it better.
Better than they have it.
To have it served yet not to earn.
Or know the meaning of what it takes,
To get up off a butt stuck...
As if glued to beliefs,
Only TV can deliver to retrieve.

With a doing to bring relief,
To a lazy mind.
A laziness that miraculously changes,
Into immediate action.
An action quickly motivating,
A nonexistent reality with incentive.
Without blood, sweat or tears.
To invest.
Or achieving what is wanted,
With physical movement...
To volunteer as a needed ingredient.

'Snap out of it.'

Anything to dream it long enough,
Is possible.
Like lies to tell if repeatedly told,
For many and to themselves.
Do come true.
And the consequences to pay?
Tremendous.
Beyond belief!

'Clean up this mess you've created.
And in the bathroom?
There you will find a bath tub.
Once filled with warm water,
Take off your clothes and experience...
What a difference it makes.
Or...
Choose to take a shower.
Discover hygiene and its meaning.'

'You talk to me,
As if I am some uncivilized creature!'

'And...
You point to make?
Is what?
The obvious?
Or disbelief?
