Analysis of Night Terror
Amanda Bunyard 1986 (California)
Awakened by the moisture;
tears rolling down soft cheeks.
Reminded of the pain;
heartbeat increases momentarily.
As I try to go back to sleep I see his face behind tightly closed eyelids.
Go away! Go AWAY!
The voice in my head screams.
Please? Stay! Don’t leave!
My heart begs one more time
As his image fades away my heart’s in disrepair;
I ponder all the things I’ve done to make him no longer care.
