I mourn the loss of day when each night it goes away
and yet the evening keeps me late in fear of tomorrow

Try as I might to cast my doubt into the darkened sky
The morning shows me once again the traces of my sorrow

He placed her on a pedestal
And fed her milk and honey
Gently clipped her wings
And showered her with money

She was his wife, he was her life
Until the day she fell
It wasn’t long before she found
The waiting arms of Hell

The notion that our eyes are borrowed and feeling like an alien expresses that sense of detachment that so many feel. It is a human condition that, sadly, leads many to feel a sense of separation from themselves and from others. To be saved from this loneliness truly is a freedom that many strive for.
