I'm a 17 year old living in a small town in rural Wisconsin. My teacher told me I am good at poetry so I thought I'd give it a try

I have had a fun summer but now it ends
and I Have to go back to school,
all over again

I despise the desks,
the classes, the notes
But I will keep out one
Glimmering hope

That school will end early
for maybe a week,
so I can go home ...

A prayer for our beloved Earth

How the trees green
and the oceans blue
It's like they're alive
and speaking to me and you

When the sun sets
and the ocean rests
The moon rises
and tucks us into bed

With houses made
and forests cut down
we are destroying our home...

Past the edge of our universe
