Any scandal romance
Public figure dishonored
Married divorce.
We all gobble up
Such irrelevance.
In buckets.

All morning.

Last one inside the Kirk.

Preacher Peden shook hands

Smiling with that slight hint of courage…

Brethren, this is it.

Thanks for showing

In spite of drizzle.

So what is drizzle

In face of our trusty Covenant...

Fundy

Squeezed between two provinces.

NB and NS.

And pulsing with each tide.

When up the waves

When down the mud

Where shellfish

Came to hide.

A people plain

A people kind

Who’d give all that

They could.

The hinterland for...

The little mixed garden of her delight.

Early rising
Smell of melt in the dirt
Sheep bleating their
Approval in the side yard.
A walk in the field
To scuff and
Kick the earth
Tells him things
Are ready for disking.

Jean is in the kitchen
Boiling water for tea
And arranging...

There is no awkwardness in sustaining rhyme and cadence throughout. The topic of sheltering love is well worth your investment of time emotion paper and ink. This whole package had to be in poetry format. Very good and thanks...Doug Blair.

Very honest account of startling diagnosis and nagging fear and doubt. Crowned off with a victory and newfound courage. Mine was radical prostate surgery in 2017 Christmas time.

So far on 26th total of 114 poems competing.
Have done this several times in the past. Stunned by the strangeness and low quality of many of the winning entries. Is there something other than quality cadence detail of description or adventure or humour to it all? And Haiku is usually unworthy of attention or time. Sorry. Doug Blair of Kitchener ON.

Yes I feel as if I am wandering mountain paths alongside Maligne Lake in Alberta. Jasper National Park. Inspired by Mary Shaffer, pioneer woman of Maligne @1902. And principal citizen of Banff, together with her guide turned Husband.

Excellent thoughts on the Pilgrim’s walk. Alluding to bits of scripture throughout. As Jude in his Letter exhorted, you have contended for the faith once delivered to the saints. Gospel poetry builds up. The epistles suggest both a building project and a war (as shown in the account of Nehemiah). Press on Brother. There will be more of worship and communing in the writing. A poet becomes a distinguished poet by simply writing more verses. In an atmosphere of Love, not of doubt or naysaying.
