POEM OF THE DAY

House of Birds

my house of birds was broken
left unfinished
when he flew
north
untraditional as usual--
his fiery metaphors
hiding out
like jewels among the rubbish
burning all illusions
of magic witches who drink coffee
and drive crazy vehicles
like brooms
in the dark of day
while frantically seeking
midnight healing
